*** This post is sponsored by Coats Crafts but the crochet pattern and words are my own. The pattern is written in US crochet terms. ***As you might already know I almost exclusively use Anchor embroidery thread. I have even been known to crochet with it. Last year I made these crochet doily brooches in duck egg blue and cream. Coats Crafts were lovely enough to provide me with an Anchor Freccia Colorful World kit and I knew straight away that I wanted to do a tutorial. As part of the Coats Crafts summer promotion each crochet ball comes with the materials listed below and two crochet patterns created by French designer Natalie Spiteri.
1.5mm crochet hook
50g ball of 3 ply crochet cotton thread – comes in blue, red, yellow, orange and green
Scallops1st row: Sl st into 2nd ch from lobster clasp on necklace. Ch 3. *Sc 1 into next ch on necklace. Ch 3. Repeat from * until end of row. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) and turn.2nd row: *Dc 4, sc 1 into yarn ch space. Sc 1 into next yarn ch space. Repeat from * until end of row. Fasten off and weave in ends. You could stop after the scallops if you fancy. It makes a dainty necklace and I love the simplicity of it.
Round 1: Ch 6. Sl st into 1st ch st to form a ring.
Round 2: Ch 1. Sc 9 into ring. Sl st to 1st ch st.
Round 3: Ch 3. *Skip 1 sc st and sl st into next sc st. Ch 3. Repeat from * until end. Sl st into 1st ch. You should now have 5 ch spaces.
Round 4: Sc 1 into ch space. *Dc 4, sc 1 into same ch space. Sc 1 into next ch space. Repeat from * until end of round. Sl st into 1st sc st. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Make as many flowers as you fancy and slip stitch them to the scallops using crochet thread.Done.
